GRADE LEVELS: Pre-K through Eighth Grade
ADMISSION: Our admissions policy is designed to ensure student success. St. Mary’s Catholic School admits children of any race, color, national or ethnic origin. Priority registration consideration is given to those families who are members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
SCHOOL HOURS: The school day begins at 8:00 am and ends at 3:35 pm. St. Mary’s Catholic School provides an on-site before and after school program, 7:30 – 7:50 am, 3:35 – 5:30 pm. Please contact the school office for more information.
SERVICE HOURS: Each family is expected to volunteer thirty hours throughout the year including Fall Fest, Turkey Dinner & Casino Night. Please read the SMS Volunteer Handbook for more information on our parent involvement.
SCHOOL UNIFORMS: Uniforms are required for students K-8th. Click here for more information. Pre-school students are not required to wear uniforms. The school has a uniform consignment store that may be utilized by any family.
LUNCH PROGRAM: For the convenience of our parents, hot meals are prepared on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. On the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Thursdays of the month, we offer chicken tender meals from Chicken Express. On the 3rd Thursdays, we offer Pupusas. On Fridays, students may purchase pizza slices from Little Caesars. Parents choosing not to utilize these services may send a lunch with their child.
SCHOLARSHIPS & TUITION ASSISTANCE: Scholarships and Tuition Assistance are available to qualified families of registered and accepted students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. For more information, please read Scholarships & Tuition Assistance or contact the school office.
REFUND POLICY: St. Mary’s Catholic School requires tuition payment in full or finance paperwork completed on or before June 1st for the next upcoming school year. Exceptions are made for new families. In general, tuition is non-refundable. If however a student leaves before the second semester of the school year, one-half (50%) of the student’s full tuition payment may be refunded. Except in extreme circumstances, such as the case where the School’s principal determines that the school cannot meet the needs of a particular student, no other tuition refund is available. The decision whether to grant any tuition refund because of extreme circumstances will be made by the principal.
TUITION: Families may pay lump sum or monthly payments using FACTS.
RECORDS: All new students are required to have copies of their birth certificate, Baptismal certificate (if Catholic), and shot records included with their Application for Admission. The most recent copies of report card, achievement tests and any other testing must be received by St. Mary’s Catholic School prior to acceptance of child. A Student Information Sheet is also required of new students who are currently enrolled in first grade or higher. Students transferring from other Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Dallas must present a withdrawal form at the time of registration.
CURRICULUM: The educational program consists of instruction in Religion, Reading, English, Spelling, Vocabulary, Handwriting, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Physical Education, Fine Arts, Spanish and Computer Instruction and follows the Diocese of Dallas Curriculum Standards
ACCREDITATION: St. Mary’s Catholic School is a part of the Catholic School System of the Diocese of Dallas. St. Mary’s is fully accredited through the Texas Catholic Conference Accreditation Commission which is recognized by the Texas Education Agency.
